Xi'an restaurant, founded in 1929, is the first batch of intangible cultural heritage protection units in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. A time-honored restaurant, the taste memory of a city.
Xi'an restaurant (Silk Road food store) is located in the international port area, only tens of meters away from the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center, which hosts the main venue of the 14th National Games. It is designed by Mr. Yin Chaowei. Consistent with the vision of the 14th National Games to show the new style of the historic city Xi'an, the design of this case also strives to present and express the old brand restaurants with new ideas.
The designer designed a channel on the first floor of the main entrance, which not only serves as a display of brand culture, but also calls out the expectation of entering the space.
On both sides of the channel, the virtual reality coexists, and the huge '1929' number marks the cultural accumulation of a brand for nearly a century; On the other side of the ochre red wall is scattered with 'black soil' (concreate model 305). The two colors are superimposed and staggered with each other, causing a reverie.
New expression of old brand
In Xi'an restaurant, geometric lines are widely used in the space, crisscross.
The reverie wall caused by the entrance passage reappears again and has been evolved and used for many times. The columns and partitions are covered by concreate wall panel 305. In the space, its size shows that it can not be ignored. While its colors tell it is on the ground.
Designer Yin Chaowei did not give a specific direction to the wall, but it should represent Xi'an. Ochre may be associated with Shaanxi loess, while black is a metaphor for a section of city wall. The abstract expression of the combination of two colors is like Tang poetry, which means a long time.
The vigorous black ink brush on the wall neutralizes the concept of general block, and hedges the regular lines of space in the wild waves. Modern materials and the historical context of metaphor complement each other.
In Xi'an restaurant, the design combines the historical context with virtual and real expression to connect a rich cultural space.
